Nightingale Finally Adds Highly Anticipated Offline Mode
nflexion Games released the 0.3 update for their world-crafting survival game, Nightingale, which adds the long-awaited feature, a community event, and stronger variants of some enemies, including the new Marksman creature.
In the latest update, the game now includes the highly requested offline mode. The development team encountered some challenges while implementing this feature, as much of the game was built with servers in mind. While it is playable, it is still a work in progress and may contain some bugs or oversights. However, the developers wanted to offer players the option as soon as possible. If you want to play in offline mode, you will need to create a new character, and this save cannot be used to join other players, as all its online functionalities have been removed.
Since you can no longer team up with others, some content such as dungeons has been reworked to make it easier as a solo player. The option to transfer your current character to offline mode is in the works, and the developers hope to release this feature over the next few weeks to months as they continue to develop offline mode further. With the introduction of this mode, Inflexion Games briefly discussed their stance on modding in the current version of the game. While they will not be actively policing mods used for single-player, they will not be officially supporting them yet by creating a Steam workshop, nor will they allow the promotion of mods on their Discord server.
Nightingale is holding its first community event until the beginning of July. Scattered around the realms you can find wisps flying around, interacting with these creatures drops a new currency called hopeful essence. You will be able to exchange these at the new event trader, who is located near the normal merchants.
A new quality of life feature has been added that expands on the craft from storage system. You will now be able to build your blueprints without having to search each chest for the resources you need. However, you will need to enable which containers you want to take the items from. This will be turned off by default, so you will not accidentally use your high-end resources on your walls.Â
Some of the enemies have been reworked, adding new attacks or changing their behavior. The Marksman is a new long-range enemy that can be tough to deal with. Their fire rate is slow but strong, so if you see a red laser aimed at you, be sure to dodge out of the way. Some of the bigger enemies have tiered variants, these are a different color and are a lot stronger but in turn, they will give you better loot.
What do you think about the current implementation of the offline mode? Let me know in the comments.
