Survival game 'Guardians of the Wild Sky' prepares for its initial playtest.

If you enjoy raising creatures and have been looking for something new, Blue Isle Studios has announced the launch of a playtest for their newly announced open-world survival sandbox, Guardians of the Wild Sky.

In this game, you explore a world up in the sky. It consists of over a thousand large floating islands, each of which will feel different due to the variety of biomes, hazards, layouts, and enemies. Your goal will be to venture deep into dangerous dungeons and fight huge bosses. To do so, you need to craft better armor and weapons, and make use of the capturing feature. Similar to games like Palworld, there are magical creatures that you can capture and raise. They will help you around the base with tasks like watering plants or building, but they can also fight alongside you.

Of course, to get around in this world, you need a flying vessel of some kind. But why just settle for a ship when you can build a large mobile base? The game has a large variety of building pieces, so you can create the structure of your dreams. By adding a device that can make your base float, you can take off into the skies. But there are also various dangers high above, as you can come across enemy ships that try to shoot you down, or large creatures that like to snack on your new home. There are many ways to fight them off, from the aforementioned magical creatures named guardians, to cannons, ranged weapons, or by boarding them and taking them on with melee combat.

You will be able to play Guardians of the Wild Sky solo or with your friends. However, it sounds like the playtest will be a single-player experience for now. If you want to apply, head over to their website. In a few weeks, an email will be sent to selected players with more details on how to join the test.

RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business PC Review by Madrenzy

Yo, what’s good, Twitch fam? It’s your boy Madrenzy, dropping a hot 10/10 review for RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business on PC, and let me tell you—this game is an absolute banger! If you’re ready to step into the titanium boots of Detroit’s baddest cyborg cop and unleash some serious justice, this standalone expansion is everything you didn’t know you needed. Strap in, ‘cause I’m about to break down why this game is straight-up perfection. From the second you boot up Unfinished Business, you’re thrown into the chaos of OmniTower, a gritty, dystopian skyscraper that’s like The Raid meets Judge Dredd with a RoboCop-sized dose of ‘80s swagger. The story kicks off with a gut-punch: Metro West precinct is trashed, and it’s up to RoboCop to hunt down the mercenaries responsible. The narrative is tight, packed with callbacks to the OG films, and Peter Weller’s iconic deadpan delivery as RoboCop? Chef’s kiss. It’s like he never left the role—every line drips with that robotic charisma that makes you wanna yell, “I’d buy that for a dollar!” Gameplay? Oh man, it’s a straight-up power fantasy. The Auto-9 pistol feels like an extension of your soul, with infinite ammo and a customization system that lets you turn it into a head-popping beast. New toys like the Cryo Cannon are pure chaos—freezing mercs into ice sculptures before shattering them is so satisfying, I was cackling like a madman on stream. The new contextual finishers? Slamming a punk’s head into a vending machine or tossing them down a trash chute never gets old. Teyon nailed the weighty, tank-like movement of RoboCop, making you feel unstoppable yet deliberate, like you’re mowing down waves of enemies with surgical precision. The OmniTower setting keeps things fresh with varied floors—movie theaters, labs, you name it. It’s not just a monotonous climb; every level feels distinct, packed with side missions that range from hilarious neighbor disputes to deeper lore drops about Alex Murphy’s past. Speaking of, the flashback missions where you play as pre-RoboCop Murphy are a dope change of pace, adding a tactical shooter vibe that had me on edge. And yo, I won’t spoil it, but there’s a section where you control you-know-who—let’s just say it’s an absolute blast and had my chat losing their minds.Visually, the game pops on PC. RoboCop himself looks like a polished chrome god, and the environments ooze that retro-futuristic vibe with neon, grime, and old-school tech like green-screen monitors. Sure, some NPC animations are a bit janky, but when you’re blasting through mercs and drones, you barely notice. The sound design is on point too—every thud of Robo’s steps and the pew-pew of the Auto-9 had me hyped. Pro tip: there’s a Streamer Mode for those of us on Twitch, so you can dodge copyrighted music and keep the vibes clean. At 8-10 hours, it’s the perfect length for a weekend binge, and the budget price makes it a no-brainer. Whether you played Rogue City or not, this standalone delivers the full RoboCop experience with enough new spice to keep it fresh. It’s violent, it’s campy, it’s everything a RoboCop fan could dream of. Teyon didn’t just make a game; they crafted a love letter to the franchise that had me grinning ear-to-ear the whole stream.Final Verdict: 10/10
RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business is a must-play for anyone who loves over-the-top action, ‘80s nostalgia, or just wants to feel like a badass cyborg. It’s pure, unfiltered fun that nails the RoboCop vibe while delivering a bloody, satisfying FPS romp. Catch me streaming this one again, ‘cause I’m already itching to dive back into OmniTower. Dead or alive, you’re coming with me to play this game!

Subnautica 2: What Makes the Sequel Different from the First Game

Unknown Worlds Entertainment has revealed how Subnautica 2 will build on the original’s underwater survival adventure while taking players to new depths. Instead of returning to Planet 4546B, the sequel sends explorers to a brand-new alien ocean world featuring diverse biomes, new locations, a range of fresh dangers, and co-op support.

One of the most significant changes is the introduction of a multiplayer mode for up to four players. Friends can now dive in together, gather resources, build bases, and face challenges as a team. Whether you’re hunting rare creatures or uncovering the story on your own, the ability to switch between solo play and seamless online co-op adds a new layer of freedom. While solo players can stick to a structured narrative through key story missions, those playing in co-op can explore more freely and shape their own journey together.

Subnautica 2 coop

Under the hood, Subnautica 2 runs on Unreal Engine 5. The game takes advantage of next‑generation lighting and volumetric water effects to create a more immersive world that reacts to player movement. Rays of sunlight cut through the waves, storms churn the surface, and underwater currents shift as you explore. These visuals not only improve how Subnautica looks but also affect gameplay by changing creature behavior and the availability of resources.

Exploration now feels more personal thanks to genetic upgrades and mutations. By harvesting DNA samples, players can boost swimming speed, withstand crushing depths, or see in the dark with bioluminescent vision. These abilities encourage deeper dives into extreme environments and reward careful planning. At the same time, new submersibles, propulsion devices, and base‑building tools let you craft sprawling underwater habitats designed for both function and style.

After a recent delay announcement, Early Access is set to begin on PC in the second quarter of 2026. According to the developers, the extended development time gives them the chance to introduce new environments, enhance vehicle customization, create additional tools, deepen the narrative, and bring in more unique creatures to Subnautica 2.

Reaper Actual

Distinct Possibility Studios, a new game development studio founded by industry veterans, has secured over $30.5 million in funding. The investment round was led by Bitkraft Ventures and Brevan Howard Digital, with participation from several other firms, to support the studio's first project: REAPER ACTUAL, an open-world persistent shooter.

The founders of Distinct Possibility Studios include names like John Smedley, Matt Higby, Trammel Isaac, Michael Hunley, and Tammy McDonald, all of whom have played key roles in shaping games such as EverQuest, PlanetSide, and H1Z1. Their new venture aims to blend MMO-style persistent worlds with first-person shooter gameplay, a combination that has seen growing interest in recent years as studios look to create more dynamic and interconnected game experiences.

REAPER ACTUAL is being developed in partnership with Big Moxi Games, a studio based in Latin America. The game has been in development for two years, with the team focusing on building a world where in-game battles have lasting impacts. This approach follows a trend in multiplayer shooters and MMOs where player-driven events can alter the game's environment or narrative.

  • Over $30.5 million raised in initial funding, led by Bitkraft Ventures and Brevan Howard Digital
  • Studio founded by veterans from major MMO and shooter franchises
  • First project, REAPER ACTUAL, aims to merge persistent MMO elements with first-person shooter gameplay
  • Developed in collaboration with Big Moxi Games
  • Planned release on Steam, Epic Games Store, and a dedicated website
  • An optional Web3 marketplace will allow players to buy, sell, and trade in-game items using the Etherlink blockchain

REAPER ACTUAL is set to launch on PC on both Steam and Epic Games. While I'm always skeptical of games with blockchain elements, the studio behind this one looks well funded and has some industry veterans.

Pirate Survival MMO ‘Crosswind’ is Finally Launching the Alpha Test

The Crosswind Crew has announced that the day for the alpha playtest of their highly anticipated pirate survival game, Crosswind, has finally arrived. It will include around 30 hours’ worth of content to keep you busy while sailing, building, and exploring the islands.

The playtest has three biomes to visit while sailing around. There are densely wooded islands, tropical beaches with a lot of open land to build on, and a damp, swampy terrain. On these isles, you can discover dungeons, towns, and other players’ hideouts. Each environment has its own resources, enemy types, and hazards to deal with. You can claim one for your own base, which you can build from a selection of different materials. In the alpha test, six will be available, from twigs and leaves to wooden or stone walls. This is already a larger variety than most survival games, and it even comes with decorative structures like trophy heads. At your hideout, you can craft more powerful tools and farm to keep you and your crew well fed. It will also be a great location to think up a strategy to conquer dungeons and defeat the captain bosses, of which there will be three present. Each of them has their own fighting style and difficulty.

It wouldn’t be a pirate game if there were no ships to sail, of course. During the alpha, you can obtain four vessels, three of which are regular pirate ships, like a small sloop or a massive galleon. However, if you are skilled enough, you will be able to take control and command a merchant’s vessel.

This is the game’s first public test, but will have limited spots to ensure the stability of the servers as more players come in. It will start on the 25th of June and is expected to run for four weeks. If you haven’t requested access already, you can do so on Steam.

What features are you most interested in exploring during this playtest? Let me know in the comments.

Enshrouded Teases the Mountains Region in the Next Major Update

Since its launch in January 2024, Enshrouded has been played by over 3 million players and has introduced 3 major updates: The Hollows, Melodies of the Mire, and Back to the Shroud.

Now, Keen Games has announced that a new update is just around the corner, and it’s set to be the biggest one yet. This update will introduce a new biome, a dynamic weather system, and enhanced verticality in the mountain region that will offer fresh survival challenges.

The new full biome will expand the Enshrouded world to the north and will take players into the mountains, bringing an abundance of fresh content to the game. The biome will feature new quests, a variety of enemies, and wildlife. The mountainous areas will focus on vertical gameplay, requiring you to climb steep terrain, which adds new survival experiences.

A highly anticipated dynamic weather system will also be introduced in the game. I hope that the weather will be added not just for visual reasons but will also have an actual effect on characters and make survival more in-depth.

In addition, the update will include new weapons, armor, and crafting materials essential for survival in this new environment. Furthermore, the update will allow you to craft additional types of furniture for your base.

enshrouded-farm-animals

To make bases more lively, Keen Games has enhanced NPC interactions, allowing them to move around the base. Farm animals and pets will also be added to create a lively and bustling atmosphere.

The update will also raise the level cap by 10 levels and introduce the ability to gain more skill points, as these features have been highly requested by the community.

Keen Games has not yet announced the official release date of Enshrouded’s new update, but they are going to share more details in the coming weeks.

Soulmask Launches the ‘Fantastic Creatures’ Update and Reveals Egyptian-Themed DLC

Are you ready for battle? Campfire Studio opened the doors of a large battle arena in their tribe survival game Soulmask. There are also new cosmetic features, structures, and we got a look at the first DLC.

The developers have introduced a new PvP battleground known as the ancient dungeon arena, which can be accessed by building and entering a new structure, the arena portal. On the official PvP servers, these dungeons will open at specific times during the day, allowing you and other chieftains to access and explore a randomized dungeon.

In the dungeon arena, players can obtain relics from an ancient civilization. However, you must remain vigilant as the area is filled with deadly traps, monsters, and of course other players who are also after the loot at the end. While inside, time is of the essence, as deadly radiation walls creep up from behind you. So waiting in a dark corner for everyone else to perish from traps or monsters will not work. The treasure chests within the dungeons contain rare ancient and mysterious gear and even precious repair kits, which are exclusive to the ancient dungeon arena. Rare tier three materials and resources can be found within this location as well, making it worth it to take on the challenge.

If you like customizing your looks, the Fantastic Chieftains update has got you covered. A new feature has been added that allows you to freely choose any outfit and wear it over your armor. This even counts for clothing from other tribes and ranks.

There are also plenty of new structures to build from fancy chairs, treasure boxes, and dummies to a mysterious converter that can transform any item into blood stones and crystals.

Alongside this major update, the developers teased the first DLC at the Tokyo Game Show. While we did not get to see much, the new expansion will be set in an Egyptian-themed location filled with pyramids and sand dunes. We also got a look at a large spaceship flying over the area. The teaser ended with a rough release date, we can expect the DLC to be available sometime in 2025.

Are you excited for the new DLC? Let me know in the comments.
