Story-Driven Survival Game ‘Atomfall’ Takes to Post-Apocalyptic Britain Crazy cults, dangerous robots, and the British countryside.

Imagine wandering through the British countryside, with its brick and stone cottages, local pubs, and iconic red phone boxes. Rebellion, the developers of Sniper Elite and Zombie Army, have announced Atomfall, an action survival game inspired by real-life events that throws you into the surroundings of Northern England, a place affected by a disaster at the Windscale atomic plant.

The game takes place in the town of Wyndham in the Lake District, where a military force known as Protocol has been deployed to enforce the quarantine. What initially seemed like a mission to protect people now raises doubts after five years of isolation. Are the soldiers here to keep people safe, or to take control? You will be the one who must fight through the hazards to find an answer.

Rebellion promises a wide variety of enemies, each with unique skills and combat abilities. The town streets are patrolled by soldiers and robots, all programmed to enforce the quarantine. You’ll also encounter cultists whose intentions are not peaceful, along with other bizarre creatures throughout many abandoned and mysterious locations.

Searching for crafting materials, food, weapons, and ammunition will be challenging as the developers have revealed resources to be scarce in Atomfall. If you’re lucky, you might find hidden B.A.R.D. science bunkers and other secret underground locations for supplies. A metal detector in your inventory will be of great use to uncover hidden secrets beneath the surface. Hunting wild animals is an additional source of food to save yourself from starvation.

The game offers a wide arsenal of weaponry that ranges from primitive ones, such as bows, to pistols and advanced SMGs. A cricket bat might help you against humans, but it won’t work well on machines. Until you equip yourself with modern ammunition, your chances of standing against the army will be limited. Therefore, your tactical skills will be of great use for survival at the beginning of the game.

Atomfall is set for release in 2025 on all major platforms, including Xbox Game Pass.
