Are you ready for battle? Campfire Studio opened the doors of a large battle arena in their tribe survival game Soulmask. There are also new cosmetic features, structures, and we got a look at the first DLC.
The developers have introduced a new PvP battleground known as the ancient dungeon arena, which can be accessed by building and entering a new structure, the arena portal. On the official PvP servers, these dungeons will open at specific times during the day, allowing you and other chieftains to access and explore a randomized dungeon.
In the dungeon arena, players can obtain relics from an ancient civilization. However, you must remain vigilant as the area is filled with deadly traps, monsters, and of course other players who are also after the loot at the end. While inside, time is of the essence, as deadly radiation walls creep up from behind you. So waiting in a dark corner for everyone else to perish from traps or monsters will not work. The treasure chests within the dungeons contain rare ancient and mysterious gear and even precious repair kits, which are exclusive to the ancient dungeon arena. Rare tier three materials and resources can be found within this location as well, making it worth it to take on the challenge.
If you like customizing your looks, the Fantastic Chieftains update has got you covered. A new feature has been added that allows you to freely choose any outfit and wear it over your armor. This even counts for clothing from other tribes and ranks.
There are also plenty of new structures to build from fancy chairs, treasure boxes, and dummies to a mysterious converter that can transform any item into blood stones and crystals.
Alongside this major update, the developers teased the first DLC at the Tokyo Game Show. While we did not get to see much, the new expansion will be set in an Egyptian-themed location filled with pyramids and sand dunes. We also got a look at a large spaceship flying over the area. The teaser ended with a rough release date, we can expect the DLC to be available sometime in 2025.
