After a rocky launch, Inflexion Games has been working hard over the last few months to improve Nightingale based on player feedback and their own observations. The long-awaited update, which includes an increased building limit, an enhanced progression system, new weapons, and fresh realms content, will launch by the end of summer.
The main struggle players experienced with construction was the limits on how many building pieces they could place within a structure, which restricted their ability to create larger and more complex buildings. With the Realms Rebuilt update, the maximum number of individual pieces like walls, floors, windows, etc., that players can have in a single structure has been tripled compared to what was previously allowed.
The Regency Tileset, a new set of building materials inspired by 18th-century Georgian and Italian designs, has been added to the game. This gives players more creative options to improve their constructions, especially with the newly expanded building limits.
Players currently acquire crafting recipes either by purchasing them from traders or by completing quests. In the new progression system, recipes are linked to a player’s advancement through the game and become available via a Progression Tree. As players level up, they can unlock recipes that enhance crafting abilities and provide gear upgrades that match their Gear Score.
There is also some good news for Realmwalkers who missed bows in Nightingale. Shortbows and Longbows have been added to the arsenal of weaponry, allowing players to upgrade them along with their archery skills as they progress. Additionally, a variety of existing weapons, such as pistols, rifles, and shotguns, have received new tier upgrades: Dauntless and Mystic, which unlock when leveling up.
The developers have also expanded the list of available spells by adding new ones: Immolation and Fionn’s Wrath. With the Immolation spell, players can strike enemies with a fireball and burn them, while Fionn’s Wrath allows them to knock down foes with throwable fish missiles.
Next week, Inflexion Games is going to provide more information on realms, creatures, and other aspects players can expect with the launch of Nightingale‘s Realms Rebuilt update.
