Check out This Cyberpunk Squad Shooter with Dredd & Doom Vibes

DEFECT, a cyberpunk, squad-based shooter created using Unreal Engine, was just announced by developer emptyvessel, a new team formed of AAA veterans. The trailer gives me goosebumps with its stunning weapons, fierce combat, immersive atmosphere and strong Doom gameplay vibes.

The game sets you in a dystopian world ruled by inhuman AI, THE SYSTEM. Pick up your faction from a few choices — the System’s own policing force, Rogue Police Elements, or a host of gangs fighting for power and playing against your friends or team up with them in PvP or co-op mode. In each tactical and tense match, you’ll have different goals to fight for.

Apart from the excellent gameplay, the original soundtrack is another highlight of DEFECT. It was created by Mick Gordon, an Australian composer who has worked on several first-person shooters, including a soft reboot of Doom and its sequel, Doom Eternal, Atomic Heart, and LawBreakers. The dynamic beat of the soundtrack enhances the overall gaming experience to the next level.

The release date of the game is yet to be announced, but you can already wishlist it on Steam now and follow the developer on Twitter to receive future updates.
